Inconsistent Protection Between Pallet Sides and Top
In warehousing and logistics operations, pallet loads are typically stabilized using stretch film to prevent shifting during handling and transport. Traditional wrapping methods focus mainly on side wrapping, leaving the top insufficiently protected. In humid environments, outdoor loading, or during temporary storage, this can result in moisture absorption or dust accumulation, affecting product appearance and packaging integrity.
Integrated Wrapping and Top Covering Operation
Based on a standard pallet stretch wrapper, the machine adds an automatic top covering unit that enables continuous side wrapping and top film application. After completing side wrapping, the top covering mechanism is activated through height detection, placing a film sheet over the load to create overlapping coverage between the top and sides.
Automatic Top Covering Process Logic
During operation, the pallet enters the wrapping station where the turntable and film carriage complete the circumferential wrapping. The top covering unit then positions the film above the load, applies and cuts the film automatically, and resets for the next cycle. The process requires no manual film placement and is synchronized with the wrapping cycle, making it suitable for stable packaging workflows.
Impact on Pallet Load Stability
The combination of side wrapping and top covering provides more uniform external stabilization during transport and stacking. The top film layer helps block moisture and dust while also restricting movement of upper layers, contributing to improved overall pallet stability.
Suitable for Multi-Industry Pallet Dispatch Scenarios
This machine is applicable in industries such as chemicals, food and beverage, paper, building materials, and electronics. It supports various pallet load types, including cartons, bags, and drums. The equipment can operate as a standalone unit or be installed in centralized dispatch areas without changing existing handling methods.
Role in the Packaging Process
From a process perspective, the pallet stretch wrapping and top covering machine does not simply add an extra step. Instead, it compensates for the limitations of traditional wrapping by automating top protection. Through stable and repeatable wrapping and covering actions, it standardizes pallet packaging and provides more reliable external protection for subsequent logistics operations.
