Even with advanced equipment, it should be easy to use. How to correctly operate a pallet strapping machine?
With more and more enterprises choosing to introduce automated strapping equipment, pallet strapping machines have become the "standard tool" in the packaging process of goods. However, many front-line operators still have questions when they first come into contact with the equipment: How exactly do you use it? Is there a standard process? What are the precautions? In fact, operating a pallet strapping machine is not complicated. As long as you master the correct methods and steps, you can quickly get started and ensure stable operation. This article takes a typical turntable pallet strapping machine as an example to explain the operation process in detail, making the packaging work both time-saving and labor-saving.
Step 1: Pre-operation inspection to ensure the equipment is in good condition
Before operation, it is recommended to conduct a basic inspection of the strapping machine, including:
Whether the power is connected and the voltage is stable;
Whether there are any foreign objects around the turntable and whether the placement space for goods is flat;
Whether the strapping film is installed properly and whether the tension of the film frame is adjusted appropriately;
Whether the emergency stop button is reset and whether the operation panel is displaying normally.
After confirming there are no issues, press the "power switch" and wait for the control system to start. At this point, the strapping machine enters the standby state, ready to start the operation.
Step 2: Place the pallet goods and prepare for strapping
Use a forklift or manual method to place the pallet goods in the center of the turntable, ensuring they are not tilted. Then manually pull out about one meter of strapping film and fix the film head at the bottom of the pallet or the bottom layer of the goods. Common methods include tying a small knot or sticking it to the edge of the pallet. This step ensures that the film does not fall off when the strapping starts. If the equipment is a fully automatic pallet strapping machine, this step can be skipped and the automatic film loading function of the film frame can be directly activated.
Step 3: Set strapping parameters and start automatic operation
According to the height of the goods, the need for stability, and packaging standards, set the strapping parameters on the operation panel, including:
Number of upper and lower turns (start/end reinforcement);
Strapping speed (turntable speed);
Film tension (film stretching force);
Number of strapping rounds (total number of turns);
Whether to use a top cover, whether to automatically cut the film, etc.
After setting, press the "start" button, and the strapping machine begins to operate automatically: the turntable rotates the goods, and the film frame rises and falls synchronously, completing the strapping process from the bottom to the top.
Step 4: Automatic film cutting when strapping is completed, and safe ending for shipment
When the equipment completes the set strapping program, the system will automatically perform the film cutting operation (if equipped with a film cutting structure), and at the same time, the film tail will be automatically smoothed to the outer layer of the goods to form a closed effect. If it is a manual film cutting type, the operator needs to cut the film material and stick the film tail. After packaging is completed, the equipment automatically stops, and the operator can use a forklift to move the pallet goods out for the next batch of operations.
Correct operation extends equipment life, and regular maintenance is also crucial
Correct operation methods not only improve work efficiency but also effectively reduce equipment failure rates and extend service life. It is recommended that enterprises arrange regular basic training for operators and perform daily maintenance according to the equipment manual, such as:
Check the lubrication of the film frame slide rails every week;
Check whether the electrical control system connections are firm;
Regularly clean the dust and residual film on the turntable and chains;
Whether the film tension device operates smoothly, etc.
Good operating habits + regular maintenance are the basis for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the strapping machine.
